Notification on Recruiting Foreign Students on Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Government Scholarship

All graduates:

In an effort to encourage increasing numbers of outstanding overseas students to study in the universities in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), XPCC is to establish Foreign Students on Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Government Scholarship to improve the quality of education and enhance the understanding and friendship of foreign students towards XPCC, to promote its international level of higher education as well as to advance its international influence. This scholarship is mainly to award the foreign students applying to study in the universities in XPCC for the doctoral, master and bachelor degrees as well as students in language program or other major training programs whose studying time is no less than one year. As the only university in XPCC qualified to recruit foreign students, Shihezi University is to recruit 10 scholars. Relevant matters are as follows:

First. Standards of the Scholarship

1.XPCC scholarship for students in China is full scholarship, that is , the tuition and accommodation are exempted, and the living expenses as well as comprehensible medical insurance are provided.

Third. Application Conditions

1.Applicants should possess foreign nationalities and foreign passports, be friendly to China and be in good health; students should abide by all the laws and regulations of Chinese Government and the local government in Xinjiang Province as well as the regulations of the School; be good at lessons and be outstanding in their general performance；

2.For the bachelor programs, students should obtain a high school degree or equivalent, excellent academic performance, and be no more than 25 years old;

3.For the master programs, students should have a bachelor degree or equivalent, excellent academic performance, and be no more than 35 years old;

4.For the doctoral programs, students should have a master degree or equivalent, and be no more than 40 years old;

5. Ordinary advanced students should have high school graduation or above when they enter the school, and their age is generally not more than 45 years old.

6.Advanced students should have master's degree or above or associate professor's title or above when they enter the school, and their age is generally not more than 50 years old.

7.For those who apply for the subject or major with Chinese language as the teaching language, should pass HSK4 or with the equivalent proficiency, be able to successfully use Chinese to complete the learning and research tasks of the subject or major, and have the ability to use Chinese to engage in the relevant work of the major. At the time of graduation, students should pass HSK5 or above .

8.For those who apply for a foreign language as the teaching language of their subject or major, the degree and advanced students should be able to use the corresponding foreign language to complete the learning and research tasks of their subject or major, and have the ability to use the corresponding foreign language to engage in the relevant work of their major; at the time of graduation, undergraduates should pass HSK4 or with the equivalent proficiency, postgraduates and doctoral students should pass HSK3 or with the equivalent proficiency.

9. The applicant shall meet the admission requirements of academic ability, language ability and other related aspects of the applied major at the same time.

10. In principle, the duration of scholarship is consistent with the basic length of studying time.

11. Students that have won the other Scholarship are not entitled to apply this scholarship.

Fourth. Materials Required:

1. Application Form for Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Government Scholarship 

2. Application Form for Foreigners to Study at Shihezi University

3. Resume Form of Foreign Students

4. Physical examination form for Students

5. Photocopy of personal passport and personal photos.

6. Highest academic degree obtained and certificate of degree (notarized).

7. Academic report card

8. Proof of language proficiency (e.g. IELTS, HSK, etc.)

9. Students studying for a degree or engaged in advanced study and training should provide a study plan (no less than 800 words) or a research project (no less than 2000 words).

10. Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit relevant legal documents of entrusted legal guardians in China.

11. Police clearance certificate provided by the home country (within the validity period).

12. Applicants pursuing master’s degrees, doctoral degrees and advanced education shall submit the recommendation letters by professors or associated professors of relevant majors.

13. Other supporting materials

Note: please prepare the materials in accordance with the list. Relevant requirements are as follows:

1. The first four items of the above materials must use the template provided in the attachment and shall not be changed without permission. The materials filled in with other templates shall be deemed invalid;

2. All the contents of the form must be filled in the electronic version, and the handwritten tablet is invalid;

3. The photos attached to the form must be in electronic version, and the pasted photos are invalid;

4. Please check your personal information carefully and submit it only after it is accurate. Those who submit wrong information will not be accepted;

5. The attachment materials shall be submitted with clear scanning version to ensure the words are clear and the fuzzy materials are invalid;

6. Experts who write letters of recommendation must have the title of associated professors or above, otherwise the letters will be invalid.
